Fate Come Noi – March 06, 2010 @ 6:00 pm
The film is about the life of two young boys who live in Torbellamonaca suburb in Rome. “Bove” is 23, sturdy, a “pretty boy” who is apparently street wise in life and with women. The “Pechino” is exactly opposite: 18, skinny, still an adolescent and insecure, but forced to take account of his life. The two find themselves face to face with people who are different in age, culture and social background. But in spite of these differences, “Bove” and “Pechino” manage to unwittingly act as intermediaries between a grandmother and her nephew and between a mother and her baby girl. And as a result the differences melt away and even the gap in the big city, between the center and the suburbs seem to be bridged.

The one who understands him is the patient in the bed next to him… Giovanni provides a much-needed dose of patience and humor. Giovanni has his problematic past: a daughter he hasn’t seen in years. As Life looms over death and once he has left the hospital, it is then Lorenzo will really discover his strength and understands that he needs to go far and find something really meaningful. So as a gratitude to Giovanni, Lorenzo travels to Umbria to find Giovanni’s daughter and bring her to back Genoa, to see her father.

The closure of a chemical factory and the sacking of scores of the workers is a sudden shock to the family and they are delimited by tension and worries. “Liberi”, according to the director Gianluca Maria Tavarelli wanted to show the search for freedom in our path is what we have to create ourselves. When Liberi loses his job, as the head of the family he also loses his social and civil identity and he feels worthless of himself and also in the eyes of his son. This father-son relationship is the basis of Tavarelli’s story. Two former workers from Montedison factory are the main characters in the film.
