United Friends Bejai present Turbulence ’09

Mangalore, December 19, 2009: United Friends, Bejai presented the much anticipated Mega Musical Night in Mangalore – Turbulence ’09 today at 6:30 P.M. at the Highland Coffee Works, Falnir. Turbulence ’09 was an event organized for a noble cause of helping the Cancer Patients. People from all walks of life and age groups attend this show.

The program started with the traditional lighting of the lamp. The members of the United Friends, Bejai lit the lamp. The presence of the Celebrity DJs like DJ Dev (Rated Top 5 in India), DJ NYK (aka Nikhil Sahni “King of Remixes”), DJ Parax (Pune), DJ Jude (Mangalore) and Carlos Gonsalves (International Drummer) made the event more memorable and made the crowd go gaga.

DJ Dev, DJ NYK, DJ Parax, DJ Jude and Carlos Gonsalves created a magic spell by their remixes and foot tapping numbers.  The crowd danced to their tunes on the dance floor and enjoyed thoroughly. Later DJ NYK aka Nikhil Sahni unveiled his debut album in the attendance of other members of United Friends, Bejai.

The surprise entry of the Santa Clause in the attendance of aerial fireworks and the X’Mas song brought in more excitement. The children were trying their best to get their hands on his beard and ask him for their X’Mas gifts.

Later, the organisers of Turbulence ’09 honoured the performing DJs by presenting them with Mementos as a sense of respect and gratitude for supporting them towards the success of a noble cause; Turbulence ’09.

The event saw a huge number of people mostly youth, couples and families. What else do people want on weekends? Absolute entertainment – Turbulence ‘09 was a huge success; the pleasant memories have already made place in everyone’s mind who attended this event.

The Performers

DJ Dev is rated in the top 5 DJs in India; He has shared the decks with most of the top Indian DJs. His remixes are being appreciated and supported by them too. His Bollywood bootlegs and Remixes have created waves in the country and they can always be heard in top clubs in India as well as in Hong Kong, Dubai, Thailand, USA, South Africa, Singapore and UK. His remixes have reached over 40,000 downloads and still counting.

DJ NYK, aka Nikhil Sahni, is the personification of all that’s cool without being over the top and all that’s classy without being ostentatious! Times have moved on and NYK has moved on well ahead of them. Within a short span of 4 years DJ NYK has effectively silenced critics and won the hearts of the gurus of good music and the masses alike; have branded him as the “KING OF REMIXES”

Carlos Gonsalves from the little hilly town of Mapusa, in Goa has drummed his way into recognition as one of the premier percussionists in the region. After jamming with some of the best musicians in Goa and India, even ‘busking’ in Ireland, Carlos is all set to move onto bigger platforms.

DJ Jude & DJ Parax from Pune also played for the event.

The United Friends: A Prelude

United Friends is a peer group from Bejai. Since its humble inception in 1989, it has acquired name and fame in various fields. At first our activities were restricted to development of sports and as they grew they took up works of immense responsibility. Over the years United Friends have conducted 6 Inter-Parish Cricket Tournaments, Football Tournament and Mega Events like “Fantasia ’98” and “Fantasia 2000”. Apart from this they have conducted many Blood Donations Camps, Volleyball and Throwball tournaments in 2008 and a District level Chess tournament in 2009.
