A slice of France in Mangalore!

Mangalore, 06 July, 2010: The Mangalore Chapter of Alliance Française de Bangalore (AFB) was launched at the Eric Mathias of St. Aloysius College (Autonomous) here on Tuesday at 4:00 pm.

Mr. Philippe Martinet, Cooperation and Cultural Counselor, Embassy of France in India was the Chief Guest. Mr. Chiranjiv Singh, Former Additional Chief Secretary, Govt. of Karnataka, Mr. Nino Ciccarone, Director of Institute, Rev. Dr. Richard Rego, HOD Media Studies, St. Aloysius College were the guests present on the dais. Fr. Swebert D’Silva, Principal – St. Aloysius College (Autonomous) presided over the function.

The Mangalore Chapter of Alliance Française de Bangalore (AFB) was inaugurated by lighting the traditional Indian lamp by the guests. This is AFB’s third chapter in Karnataka. The first is in Mysore, second in Manipal which was inaugurated yesterday. Alliance Francaise, with 22 Centres across the country, is now spreading its wings with the establishment of these Chapters. Its plans to establish its centres in Belgaum and Gulbarga by next year.
