United Friends Bejai present Turbulence ’09

Mangalore, December 19, 2009: United Friends, Bejai presented the much anticipated Mega Musical Night in Mangalore – Turbulence ’09 today at 6:30 P.M. at the Highland Coffee Works, Falnir. Turbulence ’09 was an event organized for a noble cause of helping the Cancer Patients. People from all walks of life and age groups attend this show.

The program started with the traditional lighting of the lamp. The members of the United Friends, Bejai lit the lamp. The presence of the Celebrity DJs like DJ Dev (Rated Top 5 in India), DJ NYK (aka Nikhil Sahni “King of Remixes”), DJ Parax (Pune), DJ Jude (Mangalore) and Carlos Gonsalves (International Drummer) made the event more memorable and made the crowd go gaga.

DJ Dev, DJ NYK, DJ Parax, DJ Jude and Carlos Gonsalves created a magic spell by their remixes and foot tapping numbers.  The crowd danced to their tunes on the dance floor and enjoyed thoroughly. Later DJ NYK aka Nikhil Sahni unveiled his debut album in the attendance of other members of United Friends, Bejai.

Mangalore, December 17, 2009: The above quote was clearly identifiable in each Aloysian marching proudly on the Centenary Grounds of the century old St. Aloysius College (Autonomous), Mangalore on the occasion of 130th Annual Sports Meet which was held today at 9:00 AM.

The inaugural program began with invoking God’s blessings; the College Choir led us into prayer. Rev. Fr. Swebert D’Silva, Principal welcomed the gathering.

Mr. Arthur D’Souza, an Eminent Sportsperson, Rev. Fr. Joseph Rodrigues, Rector – St. Aloysius Institutions and Rev. Swebert D’Silva, Principal were present on the dais. A floral welcome was given to the all the guests on the dais.

Mangalore, October 27, 2009: The staff and students of Karnataka Theological College, Mangalore held the Service of Installation of the New Principal of the College Rev. Dr Hannibal Richard Cabral and bid farewell to the out-going Principal of the College Rt. Rev. Dr. J. S. Sadananda at 4:30 pm at the Bishop Jathanna Auditorium, Balmatta.

The program started with a Prayer Service lead by the former Bishop Rt. Rev. Dr. C L Furtado, and the teaching staff of Karnataka Theological College – Rev. D.I. Hans, Rev. Sydney Salins, Dr. D.Dhanaraj, Dr. Annie Watson and Rev. P. James.
Rev. Dr. D. Dhanraj welcomed the gathering.

Rt. Rev. Prabhakara Rao, President of the Karnataka Christian Educational Society; Bishop of the Church of South India at Karnataka Northern Diocese and  Rt Rev. S. Vasantha Kumar, Bishop of Karnataka Central Division, Dr. J.S. Sadananda Principal of the College who has been consecrated as the Bishop of Karnataka Southern Diocese were present on the dais.

Addressing the gathering Rt. Rev. Vasantha Kumar said that “The moment we surrender ourselves to the Lord as a Leader, he blesses us with his holy spirit”. He also said that in a Christian community a Leader builds or prepares other leaders and forms a team for the betterment of society.

The Service of Installation of Dr. Hanibal Richard Cabral as the new Principal of the College was done by Rt. Rev. J. Prabhakara Rao, President of the Karnataka Christian Educational Society and the Bishop of the Church of South India at Karnataka Northern Diocese. Rt. Rev. S. Vasantha Kumar delivered the message from the Bible on this special occasion. The new Principal Dr. Cabral was felicitated with flowers, shawl and memento.

Mangalore, October 25, 2009: This was clearly identifiable at ‘Prayog 09 – a quest for excellence in dance’ the biggest, toughest and hottest Dance Competition organised by the Mangalore Excellent Dance Academy (MEDA) in association with Panama Group today at 6:30 P.M at Nehru Maidan. It was an occasion to showcase the boogie flair and an evening for all the passionate dance lovers to enjoy. The response was fabulous and the eagerness amongst the viewers and especially among the children was perceptible. People from all walks of life and age groups attend this show.

The formal programme began with invoking God’s blessing by lighting the traditional ‘Diya’ by the Guests. Pai, ED & COO of Mangalore – SEZ Ltd, Mr & Mrs. Madhukhar Malli, Mr. Vivek Raj, Prop. Panama Group, Mr. Yogesh Bhat, Navadurgrakshetra, Mr. Rakesh Malli, Inte District President, Mr. Nagaraj Shetty, Mr. Shankar Bhat, Mayor of Mangalore, Sri. Rajashekharasnanda Swamy, Mr. & Mrs. Prakash Hegde, Founders – Sri Matha Education Mangalore, Mr. Ivan D’Souza, Vice President DK Congress Committee and Mr. Rajesh Bhat, Prop. Suraj Inc. were the Special Guests present on the venue. A floral welcome was given to all the Guests by the little kids of Mangalore Excellent Dance Academy (MEDA).  Mrs. Evan D’Souza compeered the inaugural ceremony.

Sky Fantasy Firecrackers marked the grand opening of the most awaited gala event of Mangalore – ‘Prayog -09’.  The presence of great entertainers like RJ Sahil Zaheer of Radio Mirchi 98.3 – host and VJ Avinash of Bangalore – the co-host spiked up the event.
